And the winners are ... Memphis Night Life

If there is one environment that The Donahue can call a natural habitat, it is the clubs and bars of the Mid-South.

With that instantly recognizable mane, he was welcomed into Memphis' favorite haunts, such as Silky O'Sullivan's, which won for Best Beale Street Bar. Silky, as shy and retiring as he always is, seized the trophy "M" and in return gave the Master of the Party Domain some red coins with Silky's royal countenance on them.

The Donahue tried to tip the bartender with them.

Down the block at B.B. King's Blues Club (which is the Best Blues Club, according to our readers), our host climbed up on stage to perform for the lunchtime crowd. Most folks know that The Donahue is a piano player renowned in his own mind, and has frequently invited himself to sit at a keyboard at bashes. It was no different at B.B.'s, where the lunchtime crowd looked bemused as the Tuxedoed One got on stage and played the Hammond B3 that was, unfortunately, turned off.

Later he strolled into the Silly Goose (our readers' Best Cocktail Bar) and chatted up co-owner Daniel Masters, who explained that the bar's name came from stories that his dad would tell. A self-styled martini expert, The Donahue cheerfully gave Masters some advice on how to mix things up.
