The event happened at Gould's, winner of Memphis Most's Best Beauty Salon (and also Best Day Spa). Although the Toast of Memphis himself asked about getting a makeover, he was advised that extreme ones take a bit longer to accomplish than his pressing schedule would allow.
As he continued his hobnobbing among the winners in the Services category, The Donahue moseyed over to Holliday Flowers to present the folks there with the Best Florist Award. Since he's attended a vast number of garden parties, he considers himself to have a bit of a green thumb, so he was able to give some good advice to the florists. They all seemed very appreciative.
Later, the Partyman and his Posse visited Crye-Leike Realtors to present its award for Best Real Estate Agency. Dick Leike, one of the firm's founders, accepted the "M" and noted that the firm is the nation's sixth largest real estate company and has been around since 1977. "I was just a cub society columnist back then," exclaimed The Donahue."But now, like you, I'm an institution."
